...That's the best Amiga news in 16 years!
I miss my Amiga!
EDIT: I miss my Amigas! I had quite a few over the years.

I can't tell you how many hours I spent in front of an Amiga(s)...Lots! Bars & Pipes, Deluxe Music Construction Set...  Memories...
Walt

I had both of those. This is turning into an "old fart" thread

I went to the Amiga 30 event in the fall! I now have new Amiga T-Shirts ... Life is good!

I want an Amiga t-shirt..

I had a400, then a 1200. I always lusted after a 4000T.

I used to run Sequencer One Plus, at least I think that's what it was called.

I liked Amigas..

I think Gibson is buying Softube and will incorporate Console 1 fully into Sonar prochannel...would be a good move...

I'm looking at console 1 for quite a while... I for sure would be very happy if you're right!

Noel already commented on this earlier in the thread:

Noel Borthwick [Cakewalk

We're not buying Softube but we've got full Console 1 integration coming. And thats not even part of the announcement :)

One thing i am confused about is how is my price £176.14? ($199 = £136 + 20% vat = £163.20) minus 5 months ive paid already £11.89 x5 = £59.45 , (£163.20 - £59.45 = £103.75) Shouldn't £103.75 be the price?

What makes you think you should be able to deduct the 5 months you already paid ?! There has not been a single mention about being able to do that. Wouldn't make that much sense either since almost everyone will already have paid until some date in the future and so you expect everyone would still get some discount on an already discounted price.
Pricing is really very simple:
* You have paid for 1 year Platinum + you have renewed for 1 year Platinum : your lifetime offer is $99 (or the EUR or GBP equivalent + VAT).
* You have paid for 1 year Platinum, but no renewal yet : your lifetime offer is $199 (or the EUR or GBP equivalent + VAT).

oh no..he is right, but his math is wrong.. since its sonar LIFETIME, its not months until your current subscription expires, its month until you die.. so he is probably due $0.004 refunded, lost in the rounding..

me, on the other hand, expected to see the lifetime membership to be more like $3.27 ..... :d

I heard that Cakewalk is adding the PU-36 Explosive Space Modulator to Sonar!

They still haven't said who's lifetime they are referring to...

Well he was reasoning about months for which he paid twice, but you probably knew that since you're joking.
E.g. if your subscription still lasts till August, and you pay for lifetime now, you would have paid twice for June, July and August. But that's just how it goes. You cannot expect Cakewalk to start individually doing a pro rata refund.
EDIT: actually despite joking, you have a point a well :). You could also argue that Cakewalk would refund pro rata from the lifetime price instead of from the previously made 1 year subscription :)

Actually they are just tacking the lifetime expiration on to the end of your current membership (sheesh.... how many times must it be said, CW does have NOT a subscription plan)

Well, even if it's your own lifetime, they are not lying. They are not making any claims about how many and for how long they will keep making updates. When they stop making updates, still "you will receive every new core feature, enhancement, and even fixes for all future versions of SONAR".

Just out of curiosity. How do you see a difference between a membership and a subscription ? I know how SPlat works, and just thinks you can call it either.

Also out of curiosity and totally off-topic: what is this 'bakers' reference that I see popping up now and again ?
