a sonar iphone/ipad (or whatever phone) mobile studio app would be awesome, like fl studio mobile but a lite version of sonar, sketch ideas on the bus/train/toilet, save and boom, they are available in full DAW sonar too, one click project sync solution..ready to be fleshed out ...(no need for save midi, mail and rebuild synths etc etc..)... mmmMmmmm

Bakers make bread, so why do they keep asking for mine?

Because bread require dough and you supply that

THE SUSPENCE HAS KILLED MY CREATIVITY,I WANT FREE UPDATE FOR LIFE AND A FREE COFFEE MUG!!!!!!

I'm not nearly as interested in the update as I am in getting Noel's coffee mug.

No...not one like it.  I want HIS!

...though I dare say selling Tom Murphy aged reissues could prove to be a significant profit center.

(You would think that Gibson would've been all over that already.)

That will cost a bit more than a lifetime update :) lots of code was fueled by that mug!

I think a Mac version would, long term, do a lot of good for Sonar.  When I lived in LA,  about 6 years ago, I found that a ton of music professionals just wouldn't take anything that didn't run on a Mac seriously.

Personally I think this is a ridiculous attitude to have.  A computer is just a tool, and you should use whatever tool you think works best for you.  But because Macs moved into the music industry first, they have had a foothold there for a long time and a lot of people will never give them up.

Just raise my hands and pray for the Mac rumors to be true. I am really sick of the boot camp and all the problems / BSOD I had..

Unfortunately a Mac version doesn't mean SONAR will automatically have fewer bugs. If anything, both the PC and Mac versions will probably end up having more bugs due to having to then spread resources thinner across two platforms. Unless the code is mostly cross-platform, but even that makes things more complicated compared to supporting just one platform.

Since we're all guessing: I think Cakewalk will consolidate Sonar Artist, Pro, and Platinum into one product. This will simplify product development, documentation, testing, etc. We've already been told that the majority of the customers are Artist. To get a better revenue and up-sell stream CW will benefit by everyone having ProChannel, and seeing the benefits of the improved work flow and functionality.

SPLAT members are probably the most vocal (though a small part of the revenue stream), so we're been thrown a bone with the lifetime membership, so we don't get too irritated that the Artist members get the essence of Platinum at a "reduced" cost.

I guess we'll know in a few days ...

I'm confused... I've been using Sonar since the very early days. I've upgraded to every version since. I've received no emails. Feeling left out!

SONAR Arprotinum?

We've already been told that the majority of the customers are Artist.

This rumor started because during a particular period of time, the majority of new users chose Artist. I don't believe the majority of all customers are on Artist, but someone from Cakewalk would be in a better position to know.
