I am still working with 2016.09 and wanted to update. I don't know what to do since I don't experience any particular issue.
But I've just had a crash with Excel, which is very unusual. I've found this article (don't know if it's related to our Cakewalk problem):

if you want to check possible internet issue, you can use fiddler that will show you internet traffic and any errors there might be... i previously suggested that it may be some "phoning home" issue but that idea didn't gain any traction... fwiw, i don't use ccc and haven;t had any of the reported issues... but i'd still really like to know what it was!

My Sonar Platinum 64bit is locking up when I load GForce's Minimonstra, but it also irradically locks up/freezes when loading other vsti's.  I have tried the workaround as posted on page one of this thread [using Compatibility set to Win 8 and runing the Resource Monitor]; however, Sonar freezes most of the time when I load Minimonstra.  Sometimes, I can click on the resource monitor and get Sonar to unfreeze, but it is not consistent in its behavior.  BTW, I have been using Cakewalk since the early 1990s and Sonar since it was introduced.  I have never had this trouble before with Sonar--it is my primary DAW.

FYI-I also tested the same synth and others with Studio One 3 and Cubase 8.5 and there are no problems running Minimonstra or other synths with those DAWS.

I trust, and I mean that, I beleive that the Bakers will figure all of the problems out soon and get us back up and stable again soon.  I just wanted to report here that I too was having instability problems (for the first time in years).

Fiddler looks like a great tool. I wish I'd tried it while the runtime errors were going on. It's too late now, but if they resurface I'll give it  a whirl - thanks.

Like a few others have mentioned, a few days ago my random crashes suddenly stopped, and I have used Sonar for hours upon hours without issue.

However, it began crashing again today.  I'm nearly at my wits' end.

It's important to note that this isn't just a Win10 issue; it's affecting Win8/8.1 users as well. (Both OS's go through some of the same updates and use some of the same coding, for what that's worth.)

I gave it several weeks, but I'm starting to get really pissed off now, not going to lie.  I've paid $40/month for nearly a year for Sonar, and have been a loyal Cake customer for 10 years (even though I'm PT and Logic certified)....and in the middle of recording an album, the thing crashes frequently and randomly.  It's maddening.

Since this has started I've been getting runtime errors every single time I open Plat, not random. It all stopped tuesday and is still ok today for me. I've only used 2016.09 for a few months, been leery of 2016.11 and haven't used it.

Not a day goes by without a problem.  Yesterday a I started a simple project.  3 tracks.  I went to do a punch in and Sonar actually recorded my data off time   Like 2 beats off approximately.  Just crazy.  I am a long time sonar user and have bought sonar 7, 8, X and now platinum.   I love the program but jeez./......

Wow, sorry to hear some people are still having major problems. I am still having a very small problem, but really so small I'm not to worried about it right now. In track manager some midi tracks won't stay hidden. Again compared to the problems I was having, I'm ok with this.

Hope things get better for everybody.

Just throwing this out there - if you hide tracks into a locked screenset they will be unhidden the next time you open the project
