I did try to start it in "Safe" for Sonar mode by holding Shift key (not Windows Safe mode). It gives me one extra window- when it opened first time, it usually says, "Sonar will personalize your settings now"- well- it says this, I say, "Ok", then the error message of "SONARPLT.exe stopped working" appears. It is pretty bad.

And yes, all the drivers from Asus motherboard web site were installed, including Chipset, audio and video.

Now there is some weird audio monitoring software that got installed- I am not near that computer now to name it. 
I installed 
Realtek High Definition Audio (WHQL)
(Adds Advanced mode in Sonic Studio for Audio Routing Function.) ???

Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.1.7960 for Windows 7 32-bit & 64-bit, Windows 8.1 64-bit, Windows 10 64-bit.

Looks like they released new version of Chipset on 2/8/17, which is a hope- might of been something wrong with original- I will install it tonight when I get back home from work.

If drivers are an issue, you might want to try the free version of Iobit's Driver Booster. You can choose to either let it do updates or do them yourself, but it would at least define most of the problematic drivers on your system.

I admittedly did not read this thread in detail.

I am in the process of reviewing all of the drivers for her system, and I have other things in process, as well.

i haven't read all your troubleshooting stuff, but in case it hasn't been asked yet: have you tried with any other daw/apps-that-use-asio?

Vlada - I was able to get the Sonar dump file you sent me uploaded to Dropbox, and I sent Cakewalk Technical Support an email with your case information and the Dropbox share link for them to download the dump file and analyze it.
 
I also opened the dump file in Visual Studio and took a look at the various component versions listed there, and all of those are fine - I DID notice that the FireWire ASIO driver for your Presonus audio interface is listed there - even though you never got to where you could have the initial profiling complete or any changes made to things like Driver Mode, so it looks like Sonar checks for the presence of a loaded ASIO driver independently of you ever having specified its use or not.
 
IF there is something amiss with that driver for Windows 10, I am wondering if that would cause the kinds of launch crashes you are seeing, meaning that even though you have not gotten Sonar up and running on the new build yet - maybe an issue with that FireWire driver (or the chip set your computer's FireWire ports use), is causing Sonar to crash immediately upon launch.
 
I did pose that question to the technical support folks for your case, by the way - so hopefully you will hear something back from them today.

That is why I recommended removing all audio drivers.

install chipset first...then other drivers...eh.

And ...intel postings Bob?...or some others held in wait for CW to answer here?...is it solved?...is it private now?...some others here of good standings might help also VLA....while the break is on...still....eh?
 
So, ...I only wish more could help...if so waiting on replies or help....specs put to look into...something to bring or help reveal...to others?

but realtech driver might have a asio app which interrupts some things if installed...I believe might be...a problematic with other competition for default.
 
MS uses with GM or GS midi...see the ties into...perhaps?
