It is relevant to solving error though!
if it be...as it is in world sold....so no, it  has relevant ties!

Sir Les
So,,,if you bring a gift to the King of truth....And it does not perform as sold to, or given to....As a Gift of the making hand..or the giving one....And in that Gift, is a spy....Why would someone do that?

Again...Reason?...And if the maker who made all things Good by his hand...As life in a way..for us...and we take that good, and over rule it to make...Error and things go south..in terms of ill care, and not well in state of seeing it die off...And those things sought to make things...used for Killing life....and upholding it as so...In error, with...made things told never to make...or were never said to...by the King..if Eden be...only thing uttered, and error in that was with three...cast out....How is it we return?...if it was because of a Action or act done in defiance of ...His word?....Do not touch..was,...who said it ?...King?..Surely knowing...And if they did do...Two cast out of...to Earth from which they were taken from.....Is it?...So said?....if one Puts back that which was, and confesses for...And gives it back without sin or error done onto any......Is it clean?...is it brought to mind?....Is it reasoning out....Is it his?....Justice serviced and served the King and kingdom by....those who listen to reason for his coming into...Is to make those whom do...be saved,...And some trying be taught...and some crying be helped....So , it comes to....Two out of the one....of the one cast into....Death....And save and raised back to his command...Eden of dominion...Proper righted....Life without sin, is the only way....As he said, and came to show us.....No idol, no war, no killing...no cost....Just get the seed, do the task, pray...and ask ....Does he not give Eden, and or make more so, as Son said for A place is made for following His word....Says so....Truth!...Where oh where is that place made hidden?...Ah, that is done to keep sin out of.

and as it is...World is not Eden...you are in, and , I have done first liken before entering world.....Think about it...Like that...But in the end...I will come to help..and still do the sowing of seeds, and feeding the birds...and such...I care for life more so!.....Must be something in the Heart put....WHo knows?

Now fishing...With the Lord must come..and the basket made ready!...Break for interruption of words written....To go enjoy what is left to see...of his coming no doubt...The King of Kings said something about as he left, he will return same way....for his friends!

I did not bother to read the above posts, though did glance briefly here and there as I scrolled down.  I don't believe much of any of what I looked at did anything to actually assist Vlada.

As far as updating this post - that is why I returned here - it took several days of working with Vlada and she with the Presonus folks and a whole bunch of digging through online information and trying various things and all of that.

1) As it turns out, there is some kind of issue with the Presonus drivers for the StudioLive 24.22. audio interface that Vlada has been trying to get working - that this thread was created for discussing.

2) Sonar AS WELL, seems to have been failing when in its initialization processing - dealing with some strange situation, from the audio interface, that in my opinion Sonar should have handled a bit more gracefully than it failing.  It is also important to note that in Sonar's defense - somewhat - when there is bad logic in an audio interface's drivers, in a way all bets are off, HOWEVER Sonar could have displayed some error message and handled the condition - since the audio interface wasn't even physically connected and Sonar still failed.

3) it turns out that PART of the issue was that the Presonus driver installation process itself made a bit of a mess of its own installation files - and after I did some research into it - Vlada was able to manually update the drivers to point to the proper paths and settings for the interface to finally show up as working in Windows 10.

4) BUT - even with the interface seen by Windows, and indicating itself working properly, and Sonar finally opening, there is STILL the condition that there is no sound heard on playback, AND the meters do not show any levels.

So - there doesn't seem anything that the Presonus folks will deal with further - Vlada's interface is discontinued and long out of warranty - I cannot speak for Vlada - I think this reflects where she is after her conversations with their tech support folks.

As far as SONAR goes - it would be nice if they could adjust whatever bit of initialization code needed - so that such a condition can be handled in a way that doesn't crash Sonar, and generates an error message to inform the user to the error condition.

Vlada does have a potential temporary solution - in that she has a much less feature-rich, but functioning M-Audio / Avid USB interface she can use while reviewing options on looking at alternate interfaces for purchase so she can meet her needs with something that will work on her monster Windows 10 PC.

Bob,

You and I got lucky with our Presonus interfaces in that Presonus pretty much abandoned them as soon as it bacame evident that the driver model wasn't going to work. I can certainly sympathize with Vlada. As I posted elsewhere, no one ever regrets buying an RME interface...

I wholeheartedly agree (wow that was a 13-letter word) - I hope I didn't raise anyone's expectations on me continuing to use such big huge giant words.  :)

Anyways - I actually have a Presonus AudioBox 1818VSL and it is very happy with life - being a USB interface.

I DO have a tremendous sense of sadness for what Vlada and others (Les) with hardware components and drivers from hell have endured.

And Les - despite my not wanting you to continue flooding this thread with rambling whatever those were posts of yours - not too long ago I made you a sincere offer to literally ship you this very computer I am typing this from, whenever it is that I make a move to a new setup.  This would ensure that at least once you would have a computer that works well with Sonar - as I know you have been through the wringer with it all for ages.  Now - to that end, any discussion of any of that should really be outside of this thread - I am only typing this bit about it because it does tie to my comments here about Vlada's situation and my reply to Dan.

So - I literally have not had a Sonar crash for anything other than me trying out some 32-bit leftover plugins I wanted to see if still worked, for a long long time - and part of the success I believe I have had is because I PURPOSEFULLY do NOT go out and grab the cutting edge hardware - it is TOO prone to problems, and too many companies take too long to embrace hardware at the fringes - the high-end performance monsters.

I am MUCH happier having a decent AMD CPU and 32 GB of memory, an inexpensive SSD for my primary drive, and 5 additional 7,200 HDD's for all the other stuff, and having ZERO performance or reliability problems - than I would be if I were hell-bent on pushing the extremes of hardware components.  I still have literally over 40,000 sounds, and everything works.

I am MANY hundreds of dollars better off - AND I never ever have any system problems - I just don't have them.  It is not by luck or happenstance - it is because I choose well-made components at great prices, and the performance of my system absolutely meets my needs.  I am not meaning to sound like I am gloating or anything at all like that - I am suggesting that there is a lot to offer by building computers that work reliably - and to me, that is an essential part of the whole design/build decision making process.

Hi Bob, Hows it going?

You said "you have never had system problems"...And you are using Microsoft Product as a OS or have been since win 95?....Now that must of been slight of mind lost, if you think I will believe you saying things liken what you put in the posting ..And knowing all have had issues, and work arounds given, to solve for bugs throughout the conceptual idea of computing...save save save be first rule still said, because you never know when it will happen, but we all know it does!....After my exile by moderates of moderation.....I am still waiting on the intel and or methods used to gain solution of This persons problem on this post....

And how that came about?.

Enough time?...past 30 days and counting more so more gone bye.

Hay Bob, You got a issue with midi now in Sonar?....So , now you got some...I think a retraction might be needed in this thread.

Is this thread still out for Breaks?

I read most of all...and read and read...most of all always...what I have not read yet in this thread...is the words solved put.

Let us bring that story up...so it is closed so , I can read what was done, how it was achieved, and methods used....

And I will  read that also!!!

Thanks.

Cheers!

P>S...Some one down the pot hole of this forum...said...""Let us make this place more Positive."

OK...++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Moderate that!

Les - When I referred to not having system problems, I am meaning to say with the operating system itself.  I have a stable OS - with Windows 10, and I don't even recall the last time Windows 10 OR Windows 8.1.1 crashed on me.

CERTAINLY there are bugs within Sonar, and other software, specially some drivers - and Vlada's issues were in large part due to crappy Windows 10 drivers written by PRESONUS for her particular hardware mixer/interface.

I DID have to reauthorize a few of my soft synth collections, following some Windows 10 maintenance, but that took just a few minutes to accomplish.  I believe I might have had something get reset as well, but again it was not any major deal to change back again.  But, that was about it for me.

MY system has a stable Sonar, certainly it does not crash, and my audio interface happens to be running without problems - it is a USB audio interface - at the moment using a Yamaha/Steinberg UR-22.

My last 4 computers were also all quite stable - and if memory serves, I did occasionally have crashes with both Sonar X1 and X2, but workarounds for those issues were found by others having those common issues, and subsequent maintenance put fixes in place for whatever was causing crashes.

With regard to Vlada's horrific experience, there does not seem to be any hope of the Presonus folks actually owning the failure in their interface drivers, which means Vlada has a $2,000 boat anchor instead of a mixer/interface, and she has to look around for something else to meet her needs.  NOT a good place for her to be.
