Today I finally got back to trying to work on some audio project I have (been doing video lately).  This morning I ran CCC to see if there were any updates, which there were, so I updated Splat and a few other things.

NOW....all of my piano roll views in all of my projects show "multiple tracks" instead of the single tracks I created (by right clicking and choosing "lock contents").  It doesn't matter how I try to change it back...ALL of my piano views are "multiple tracks" now.  I make sure that only ONE track is selected before I open the piano view.  What gives?

I just rolled back the the previous version....and the piano roll tracks are back to normal.

I guess this is a bug that needs to be fixed :) .

The behavior you are experiencing with the latest  update is not a bug.  The Bakers have started modifying the functionality of the PRV beginning with version [2017.03].  Documentation is here:  https://www.cakewalk.com/...lp=NewFeatures.05.html

So...I guess now we can't use individual piano roll tabs for each track.  I guess that's something I will have to get used to.  I was about to panic when all of my piano roll tabs said multiple tracks...when I knew each one was designated to a specific track.

It is still possible to have individual PRV tabs for each track or group of tracks. If you prefer not to see the other tracks controls in a PRV: Open the PRV, enable the filter on some tracks, lock the PRV, repeat as necessary. See details about the PRV track filter https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=NewFeatures.06.html#5889947

Thanks scook.  I'm open to "enhanced" ways of doing things....obviously the bakers figured the new way was "new and improved".  So I will give it a try...seems like it might be a nice way of working with piano roll views.  I've just been away from Sonar for a while doing video work.  And was a little taken back when I saw all of my piano roll tabs we no longer individual tracks.

I will play around with using it both ways and see which way is more productive for my work flow.  Thanks again guys...!

Sorry bakers. Hate the new piano roll "feature".

Hey guys -

To get familiar PRV behavior in the latest Early Access (and upcoming 04 Release), try this:

In the PRV's "View" Menu, make sure the item "Filter To Selection On Open" is checked, and "Show Audio Tracks" is un-checked.  Now when you open the PRV, the contents will open with the selected clip or track, just like it used to.  You can also lock the contents of that tab and expect the track data to stay put in each PRV tab.  If you want to change the contents at any time, just click the Filter button to turn it off and add/subtract whatever tracks you want.

That being said, I'm going to run some tests to see if we've broken something for existing projects, or if we've made the experience worse.  Stay tuned.

How about clicking on a note and making that track selected and active for editing?
I don't mind if there's an *option* to disable that behavior but
loosing it all together would be a real slow down in work flow.

Hi Steve_Karl, if I understand you correctly......turn off the AutoLock?
