I own and have owned many Gibson guitars. (all technically vintage at this point that I still have and keep for sentimental reasons, not because they are my best instruments).
If you think they make the best LP style guitars - or even Gibson style, you might do more research...without naming names, and I'm talking about alternatives that are the same price point or cheaper.
Depends a bit on which sound your going for, but that's more a matter of pickup preference.
I mainly use LP's these days and found the better LP's from Harley Benton to be better soundwise than some of the newer midrange Gibson LP's when all the electronics are switched out, neck feel is still better on those Gibsons, but that can be fixed on an HB too.
Point is, that them shutting down some of their side operations isn't enough to keep me buying one of their guitars or parts for such, like it doesn't make me boycut products from Roland if they got something I want.
Stating that one boycuts Gibson over this really brings nothing except maybe a fuzzy feeling.
