I had 88 LP custom...Luckily they were only going new for $850, replaced the pups with 57's thankfully Slash got them popular and I traded it for a new Martin D40. Few years back bought their 60's Tribute Goldtop w/P90s for $850 at Musician's Friend. No fancy features but plays as well as my 88 LP Custom. That's all they're worth $850 in my opinion..so yeah the old Gibson's are great but the new ones? buy an Epiphone, you won't be sorry!

I wonder how many of those that say they won't buy anything Gibson actually own one of their guitars.

I used to, but it's been many years.  Most of my Gibson purchases have been guitar strings & picks, but the strings I put on last week (purchased a couple months ago) are the last Gibson anything that will get my money.

Personally I will keep an eye out, might need to get my hands on a few spare parts and another LP if the company should go down next year.

I own and have owned many Gibson guitars.  (all technically vintage at this point that I still have and keep for sentimental reasons, not because they are my best instruments).

If you think they make the best LP style guitars - or even Gibson style, you might do more research...without naming names, and I'm talking about alternatives that are the same price point or cheaper.

Depends a bit on which sound your going for, but that's more a matter of pickup preference.
I mainly use LP's these days and found the better LP's from Harley Benton to be better soundwise than some of the newer midrange Gibson LP's when all the electronics are switched out, neck feel is still better on those Gibsons, but that can be fixed on an HB too.

Point is, that them shutting down some of their side operations isn't enough to keep me buying one of their guitars or parts for such, like it doesn't make me boycut products from Roland if they got something I want.
Stating that one boycuts Gibson over this really brings nothing except maybe a fuzzy feeling.

Epiphone is the same company these days, I have one of their LP models and an old Wilshire.
Like all brands not all Epiphone models are equally good, they did put a few close to Gibson spec models out though, but to be honest, for the price they ask for them I can get more out of cheaper brand guitars with some parts switched out.

The serial number and registration code should be shown in Cakewalk Command Center.

Is it really so that there's no plans to keep Sonar alive somehow? No one's interested in buying it? This is a huge loss :/
