BTW I like this forum very much, but it is poisoned by some mournful creatures who do not like Sonar at all. Why do they not just switch to another DAW and let us Sonar lovers be?

I have said this repeatedly.

Sharke stays here just to tell us how Sonar sucks. I am so tired of his TIRED stories. The sos post after post.
So leave already. Get out and leave those of us that enjoy Sonar and aren't here to keep hammering it's issues alone.

I have been here since CW Pro Audio 6, when ever that was. Yes bugs. OK. Oh Boy!
****But, Guess what? as Cactus said, for what I do Sonar is the best of the best. NOTHING comes close For me.

So please stop. Really? what's your point? Is it just to be trolls? Sure seems like it. Get a life.

You know what I'm so tired of? It's the US vs THEM mentality. You do realise the reason we are all here is because we loved that application? And just because YOU don't agree does not make other people trolls or bad people.. Grow up !!

I'm glad you are happy, maybe if there were a few thousand more like you Cakewalk may not be out of business.

If you want to blame Gibson you can blame them for poor management, buying companies without a solid business plan to bring them to profitability, or possibly lack of ability to execute on whatever plan they did have.

Since you seem to be an expert, may I ask what business plan you propose for a rapidly changing environment where an increasing amount of DAW's on multiple platforms are given away for free, sponsored by ads or follows gear ?

..
Are you implying that it's not possible to have a business plan "for a rapidly changing environment where an increasing amount of DAW's on multiple platforms are given away for free, sponsored by ads or follows gear ? "
 ...

No, I'm asking.

The more time I spend on other DAW's the more I realize that whatever its faults may have been, Sonar was well ahead of the pack in many ways. I used to think Sonar needed work on its meter systems and never could figure out why they never changed anything. I've come to realize that Sonar has more tweaks for its meters than all the other DAW's combined. No wonder my feature requests were never answered.

This is how I feel as well John. Sometimes the promoters for other DAW's led me to believe I was missing something. The truth is SONAR was pretty special. Cue the S1 zealots who will come in to say I'm not doing it right.

I will say this once stratman. I do not care one jot if you don't think I should be here. Who the hell are you to decide who should and shouldn't take part on the forums, or what kind of attitude toward Sonar people here should have? I've been very active on this forum since 2012 and while I certainly wasn't the most prolific beta tester I've contributed toward a good few bugs being squashed, maybe in ways which benefited YOUR enjoyment of Sonar. I've also paid a good deal of money for the program and its updates over the years, so I think when all is said and done I'm 100% entitled to express whatever opinion I like about the program on this forum, regardless of whether or not it offends your clearly delicate emotions. I'm starting to understand Alex's rants a bit more now.

Maybe if you were really happy with S1 you'd be on their forum instead of this one. Part of the reason that so many users and former users still congregate here (even though some have moved on to other DAWs) is that there is a strong sense of community here. You're back and exhibiting the same pattern that you used to employ (when you were banned). You seem to thrive on attacking the user base as though somehow there is something wrong with everyone else. Don't take this wrong but - maybe it's you?
I see you're making friends at Beyond Cakewalk too... well done.
How about this - It's a CAKEWALK forum - let Cakewalk users be happy with their choice.

^ And I am "attacking the user base" how exactly? Because you don't agree with my opinion about how this piece of software developed? Have I actually attacked you? Er nope.

Er did I ever says people should not be allowed to be happy using Sonar? Did I say I was not happy with their "choice".... Nope? Do you know I am a Sonar lifer as well and have upgraded every version since X1?

And this "strong sense of community" statement is an absolute load of waffle designed to give the "US right" vs "YOU wrong" impression, therefore you must be a troll and "nasty person". Well you are just ONE person making one comment as am I. I am not going to stoop myself low enough to make such comments back at you.

Same behaviour trait? Yup because I am DEFENDING myself and standing up for myself as per usual, because people like you don't like what I write and won't accept viewpoints you don't like, and there end up attacking me. And rather actually have a technical discussion would prefer just to demonise people.

Any user who does not like Sonar, and has found a new software home, and who insists on coming here and bashing Sonar now that it is in its death throes, is by definition trolling. If your glad it's dead, fine, say so once and move on to the DAW of your choice. Anything beyond that is obvious trolling. You have nothing to gain here and nothing to contribute. The fact that you are still here shows you clearly have another agenda. You don't need a degree in Psychology to figure this out (although I have two). The people still on this forum are continuing Sonar users, who plan to continue using it indefinitely, or until they transition to another DAW. They are here to support one another, both professionally with continuing advice and problem solving, as well as emotionally during a difficult transition. There is no other reason for anyone to be here. Especially when all you bring to the table is negativity. It's mean-spirited, immature and a waste of everyone's time. Your too old to be told to grow up, so I'll just say "Get lost."
