I've used Sonar for over a decade. However, I rarely comment. But reading the arguments here is like watching mom and dad fight before he packs up the station wagon and leaves us for the hot, new cashier (who's half his age) from the grocery market. ...lol

You know, maybe I get too excited and upset. OK, I'll admit to that. Sorry!
But Michael D said it much better than I did, or at least without the anger.

Just stop trying to tell people that they should "go away," accept that this is not an echo chamber where everyone thinks in lockstep, and everything will be cool. Sound good?

The defence rests....

Oh people are on trial now..? OK sure whatever.
Regardless of the outcome I won't be able to activate ;)

Noel has stated repeatedly that you will be able to activate Sonar if the online activation is killed so you are spreading misinformation..... repeatedly

My request to everyone is this. Be rational and avoid getting into speculation and petty arguments about what should or should not have happened - its not going to be positive or help anyone. By all means go and explore other software choices if you are in a critical business or you are risk averse. Choices are good and if nothing you will learn what works for you by using other tools. If something works for you and makes you creative, use it. End of story. This applies irrespective of whether this event happened or not. Software like SONAR will be functional for many years into the future irrespective of whether its updated or not. People are still making music with 10 year old versions of SONAR.
Honestly there aren't any mods around or a large portion of these posts would have been deleted or the thread would have been locked, since its gone vastly off topic from the announcement. Please self moderate and be respectful of this community especially in this time.

I'm testing the Mixcraft 8 Acustica and realized how similar it is with Sonar I can say that because of that I'm having no trouble working with it. Sometimes I forget that I'm using other software other than Sonar, I really see that these rivals have followed the scratching things that Cakewalk put on the market first. But I'm glad that the competition recognizes that Sonar is highly intuitive. I'm liking the Software mostly liked the ease of creating loops. The sonar at the same time that it is easy on sonar sometimes there are strange bugs that simply do not happen in Mixcraft. However after I used the Pro Channel on Sonar I find it difficult for a competitor to offer something as remarkable as the FX chain. Finally the failure of many of the competitors is the lack of full compatibility with old and new plug-ins, something simply spectacular in Sonar. Mixcraft has suffered to read some plug-ins that simply fail to run in the Daw. In contrast the Pro Studio version comes with string samples and various interesting and good quality ethnic instruments that make it easy to create jingles. The Interface and visual is simpler and lighter than Sonar. But when it comes to opening a project with heavy plug-ins, Sonar can open the project faster than Mixcraft. Definitely at least for me, there is no Sonar replacement that can fulfill all the functions of the Cakewalk Daw and still have superior resources and accounting. You'll have to do things more like how we do in ProTools, only the Mixcraft personally found it much more user friendly and fun to work with than Avid's Software.

There are so few of us, we can't possibly read every post in every thread.
This thread has run its course.
