Funny, this was one of Trumps Made in USA companies. Remember that BS. As he stood with all the guitars and folks from Gibson? What was that 3 months ago?
Hah!............

Things I miss from Sonar in Studio One:
1. Step Sequencer
2. ProChannel (when it works correctly). This is somewhat alleviated with Brainworx's Console line of plugins, which contain well-emulated vintage EQ, Compression, and console channel emulation.
3. Drag quantize in PRV
4. Sonar-specific plugins (e.g. TH3 Sonar).  Quick note here: Focusrite users can get all the AAS session plugins for free right now, so Focusrite users accustomed to these in Sonar can now port them to Studio One.

Overall, StudioOne is a bit of a paradigm shift, but a positive one. I found myself more productive on average in S1 than in Sonar, but I love the vast array of Content that Sonar comes with. Fortunately, most of it (loops, Dimension Pro, Rapture Session, VX1) can be used in outside DAWs.

Yep **** management, so much for lifetime updates, this forum rocks.......as long as we can forever be able to re-install this last version forever........I don't have time or money to spend on a different daw....and I paid for lifetime ****ing updates

Great! Maybe you can tell us which of Cakewalk's bundled plugins don't work with Studio One?

Some that don't work: The Nomad Factory BlueTubes ones (unless you buy them from NomadFactory). TH3 Sonar/Cakewalk.

On the bright side, here are some that do:

This is not as bad as getting the Gigastudio 4 upgrade and a month later theScam drops it.  The only use I get out of it is I have elicenser dongles.

First of all, I'm really saddened to read this, I actually can't believe it happened. I had a LOT of joy using Cakewalk & SONAR in the past, and also managing CakewalkNet users website back in the 2000's. Thanks a lot Noel and all the kind folks at Cakewalk, I really hope Microsoft or some other company could buy and sustain development, a product like SONAR shouldn't stop this way. Good vibes and all the best, Hans Van Even

AS mentioned by someone before....We really NEED and deserve a definitive answer about being able to reinstall Sonar and plugins. I know, many like me, have upgraded everytime. I skipped Sonar 2 upgrade. The ONLY upgrade I did not buy since starting with CWPA 6 decades ago. Yes also fell for the lifetime updates.
Gibson are the ONLY people that can correctly clear this up.

I mean Studio One Pro 3.5 is on sale at 1/2 price at sweetwater. $199.00.  I am an old timer, viet nam vet, so that will give you an idea. One of my great joys in life is sitting in my little home studio and recording, mixing and mastering.

No I am not panicing, I am being realistic. For all we know serverers could be down Friday

I remember the old forums too. They were great. Plenty good......I am sad.

Can you tell me which ones you are mainly interested in? or do you want the lot checked?

I'm planning on installing the trial of Studio One. Then I'll do my own testing. Today I've been setting up for leaving SONAR - installing non-Cakewalk plugins that I have but never installed. I'm hoping my bundled versions of Addictive Drums 2 and Session Drummer 3 work outside of SONAR. Also CA-2A, Concrete Limiter, the LP effects. I haven't given this a lot of thought as I never expected this to happen, so can't list the ones I'm most interested in. Mostly I have only used the instruments and effects that have shipped with SONAR. They're good, and I haven't bought much third party stuff. Thanks for your interest, but I'll figure it out.
