I really hate to hear this, esp for the Cakewalk employees.

I know the servers will keep running (for awhile) but I would love to have sonar platinum install files so I can install them later and not have to rely on the server.

Then download them from your account.
If you use Command center to install Sonar than they are already on your computer.

I love this forum and would be willing to kick in some money to keep it going.

ditto

Me too.

Forum software: $400 one time + $16 per month after one year
Hosting (guessed): $50 per month (or more)

Still willing?

400 split between 400 people=1 dollar
Still interested ? Yes.

Again, me too. There are hundreds of regulars here, I'm sure a fundraiser could be put in place.

Absolutely. I already "subscribe" to another music forum... I'd do the same for the Cakewalk forum if needs be. I have learned so much from this place and made so many good friends that I would call it a necessity...

That's heartbreaking. But life has to move on. Hello Studio One.

One great thing about setting up an independent forum...

No more double posts

Always a bright side...

Oh this is lovely -- two whole months since I did all the research and decided to make the plunge with Sonar as my DAW of choice.

Will the Cakewalk store close?  Should I get anything I don't have now?

I'm really sorry to hear that... Must be quite a few Peeps in the same boat
