I have been a LOYAL user since '96 (CW Home Studio 5), and to be totally blunt, this is a unacceptable. I am hurt, saddened, angry, and disappointed. All the promises made and Gibson is STILL pushing lifetime updates on their online store. Ridiculous. The only thing we can do as users is band together as one, and reach out on social media and other channels to make some real noise. We need to assist with our voices other possible options for Cakewalk's potential new home (Slate, Microsoft, UAD, Softube, etc). We can't let them do this to us.
20 years with the same DAW, and we shouldn't have to pressed to move onto something different. I will be speaking my voice loud and clear on all of my social media channels and supporting others who feel the same sentiment. We cannot let this go lightly. It sickens me that I signed up for LIFETIME updates only to have them kill Cakewalk a year later!! Damn shame loyal customers don't mean anything to the decision makers.
