Karyn,
That is all well and good. Actually the thing to do.
But I guess long timers like myself with tons of $$$ worth of CW plugs and vsts are just out of luck.

Of course, we have to take what we can get. At least I can really clean up my plug in management   :-)

Actually, all my cake plugs are working fine in Reaper so long as I keep Sonar installed.

TTS-1, Vintage Channel and LP64 EQ won't work for me in Reaper, but most of the Sonitus Suite does, and LP 64 Multiband. I'm exporting my Reaper projects to Sonar for final mastering, so I can use VC and LP 64 EQ. I have had ro give up my favorite Tuba in TTs-1. I think my problem may be that my version is only 8.5, so my plugs have not been updated beyond that.

Missing Rapture Pro Soundpacks and SONAR Platinum 3rd Party Sample Collections

Just found that a load of Rapture Pro sample packs have gone from the servers - can't download them either using Command Centre or from the website (also posted in the Instruments forum).
http://forum.cakewalk.com/Rapture-Pro-Instrument-Packs-No-Longer-Downloading-m3692915.aspx

I just tried and couldn't download them either. Did you manually trash them?

I had trashed them as was running out of space a while ago (have it all on an SSD disk for speed and noise).

Just had some feedback from scook that they might have repackaged the packs some time ago....

(update) HOWEVER, in looking through the presets, I can't find the Grand Harp or PianetT in the ones installed, and would expect these given the full list of packs that are no longer downloading. The list apparently missing for Rapture Pro is:
- Legacy Content Pack Vol 1
- Legacy Content Pack Vol 2
- Legacy Content Pack Vol 3
- Gibson Content Pack Vol 4
- Analog Content Pack Vol 5
- Orchestral Content Pack Vol 6
- Pianos Content Pack Vol 7
- Organs Content Pack Vol 8
- World FX Content Pack Vol 9
- Concert Grand Harp Content Pack Vol 10
- PianetT Content Pack Vol 11
- Clavinet Content Pack Vol 12

And having looked into this further, it seems that they disappeared with UP3 based on the forum message from back then, see http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3344029 and having looked through the presets, they are definitely missing from the presets (I had done a rebuild) so probably lost forever :-(

There also seems to be a similar issue with some of the sample packs included with SONAR Platinum, specifically:
- (original) Anderton Collection (although 30th Anniversary Anderton Collection covers most if not all of these)
- Cakewalk Loopmasters Content Collection
- Cakewalk Sample Magic Content Collection
- Cakewalk X-MiX Content Collection

So my question is, does anyone have the original downloads for these - I can share evidence of owning the software if there is a way to get copies of these.

If not:
Whenever you download anything from center it is downloaded to a folder first, then auto install begins.
In command Center click on the setup gear on top right of CC window. You will see 2 tabs. Paths is one of them. That will tell you where the files were downloaded to.

I had trashed them as was running out of space a while ago (have it all on an SSD disk for speed and noise).

Just had some feedback from scook that they renamed the packs some time ago, and that the old names seem to be still showing in Command Centre... about to go through the presets to check, but think that the old set of 12 packs were rolled into the D-Pro and Rapture Classic installers. Will update on findings here and on main post (and thanks to scook).

I was just downloading Rapture pro and Rapture sessions exp packs this morning.
had no problem

What a shame. Gibson do appear to have behaved like scoundrels. Shocker.

Like all the other users and the industry at large, I was shocked to hear of Gibson’s decision to shut down Cakewalk. The improvements that came with Gibson’s association and commitment were welcomed and I often spoke very highly of the resources (financial, management and talent) that have brought the capacity of Sonar to where it now exists (notwithstanding the current news). My personal level of disappointment with Gibson is only exceeded by my gratitude and respect for the excellent work done by the Cakewalk Team with their R & D.
Although I don’t have all the facts, I hope the product line will find life in a new home and that Gibson will offer some true business goodwill in helping to facilitate any potential transition (or at the very least not hinder that possibility).
Sonar’s development stride over the last year or so has greatly assisted my creative life. I won’t be changing DAW’s until I no longer have a choice. Here’s to the possibility that all the good work to this point will not be left where it is today.

So what DAW is everyone thinking of making the switch to? I don’t know how I feel about putting my eggs in a basket that’s been closed. The Pro-Channel/console simulations played a big role in my decision to jump on board with Cakewalk a few years ago. Should I just buy Waves NLS and look for something different?
