Take a screenie of your Sonar Serial etc. and send it to Presonus support, they were handing out 50% discount vouchers for pro....perhaps that would move it closer to your budget :)

So, the Sonitus plugins aren't standard VST plugins?  Good to know, as the Sonitus reverb and compressor are basically my go-to for those effects as they're so simple to use and sound great.

They are so called DX/DXi. But they exist in 32bit AND in 64bit. Unlike VST, they are not bit-bridged. So if you install Sonar 64bit, you get 64bit versions of these plug-ins.

Anyone know if this will work in Reaper?  I'd like to get Studio One eventually as I used their free version before I bought Sonar and loved it, but it's a little beyond my price range currently as I'm a little financially stretched at the moment.

Yes. Natively (so you do not need to read this lengthy thread for workarounds...).
I some problems with GUIs of some archaic CW DXi (the GUI is "cut"), but there is no such problem with any Sonitus DX. There is "sonar like" theme mentioned in the Software board, it creates Sonitus EQ instance on new tracks by default, to imitate "ProChannel" (really more Sonar 8- filter) feeling

Awesome thanks.  Reaper is looking more and more like a good option.  I stuck with SONAR because I liked the bundled toys (Reaper's bundled stuff, whilst very good for the price isn't a patch on what Sonar Professional offered).  However, if most of the plugins I've been using will work with Reaper then there's no reason not to go with it.

I don't trust that the authorisation for SONAR will remain in place indefinitely despite what Gibson are saying (especially with the "at this time" caveat they've placed in the FAQs and the fact Gibson looks to be in serious financial peril), and so I want to be able to use a DAW which is being supported so I don't suddenly lose access to any projects I'm working on.  It is very sad from a personal perspective as I've grown very comfortable with the workflow in SONAR and have got to a point where it works extremely efficiently for me.

Just for clarity I'll mention that in Reaper, as with the DX wrapper discussed in this thread, the Sonitus compressor and gate are NOT available. My guess is that it is due to the side chaining allowed in those two plugins, but it's just a guess. As mentioned previously in this thread, the Sonitus surround compressor is available, so you could use that as a substitute for the compressor.

OK thanks :)

Slightly OT but after working with Studio one I noticed that my 32 bit vsts and vstis that I have wrapped with jBridge also show up and work well in the 64 bit version of the program. It's EXTREMELY rare that I use those anymore, but I still have a soft spot for the Waves R Comp and L2.

Both of those have 64-bit versions (So no need to bridge 32 bit ones).  Unless you are stuck with old 32-bit only versions for some reason...

I'm not stuck with them.........my wallet is!

confirm the Sonitus compressor doesn't work.
I couldn't get any GUI with the Lexicon Pantheon either.

I can confirm that Lexicon Pantheon has no GUI in Mixbus or REAPER , either.

I used to use Pantheon in REAPER and it had the GUI. It might have been a really old version because it was 32 bit only and when I went pure 64-bit at the beginning of this year, I retired the Pantheon and bought the Lexicon MPX Native Reverb, because I love the Lexicon algorithms, but wanted pure 64-bit with no bridging.

I notice that Sweetwater has it again for $49.97 which is what I bought it for last year, but be aware that this requires an iLok 2 or higher, which I don't mind but some folks might.

EDIT:

Also, I ran the two side by side and dialed my own patches to match some of the presets from the Pantheon. They are not identical in their factory presets. That said, I recently had someone comment on the acoustic drum sound I have on one of my songs. They asked me how I was getting that great room sound, or was I actually getting the sound from my drum room. It was the Lexicon, and the very reason I love the room algos they employ.

I haven't tested this extensively, but so far very good! This works with the Sonitus effects, 64-bit DXi instruments, the Cakewalk Creative Suite effects, etc. As a bonus, if you have a Sony product like Vegas installed, its DX plug-ins show up too.

So here's the deal...this assumes a 64-bit OS and 64-bit Studio One Professional.

1. Go to https://www.xlutop.com/buzz/zip/
2. Download the zip file dxshell_v1.0.4b.zip
3. Extract it.
4. Copy the files dxshell.x64.dll and dxishell.64x.dll to the folder where Studio One looks for VST plug-ins.

That's pretty much it...open Studio One, and you'll see all the 64-bit DX and DXi plug-ins...this includes Groove Player, Cyclone, SFZ, Z3TA+, PSYN II, and...wait for it...the TTS-1!

Thanks Indeed Craig,
Just caught this post ..........Luckily
Followed your instructions and all working well.
Running Studio One through the hoops now and I must admit its helpful to be able to activate some familiar CW DX/DXi favorites during my possible transition to the said S1....esp TTS-1 :)
Cheers Frank
