My MODO bass suddenly quit working in both Sonar and Cakewalk.

I have 2 computers and it works fine on one, but not the other one. I mean in the DAW, it works fine in stand-alone. I recently had issues with that machine and reinstalled win10 with a fresh install of everything and it still doesn't work. It loads fine, midi imports but doesn't play. If I open the MODO console and try to manually hit a note on the bass string or the keyboard at the bottom nothing happens. No movement, no sound, nothing.

Any clues what the problem could be?

yeah, Everything I have is 100% good to go. It was working fine on the same OS/install, then boom this started happening.

Then I would try the ol "Un-Install/Re-Install" to make sure something didn't get screwed up.

All your other IK stuff works?

Everything at this point on that machine is a fresh install.

I did make sure thevst as not frozen. I removed the synth and created a new one. I can play notes in the vst, but midi still does not play.

Before you go through a reinstall, try a VST reset-rescan.  That often fixes glitchy plugins.

Make sure that the imported MIDI data is written within the note range of the bass.  For example, if the MIDI data is recorded an octave below what the bass can play, it will not sound until you shift it or transpose it.

Sorry for the delay. I work ridiculous hours.

Anyway, I have been doing it this way for a long time. Find a drum and bass track I like, usually in Guitar Pro, export the tracks separately, import them into Cakewalk after inserting the synths of course. I'm using SD3 for the drums and MODO bass for, well, the bass.

SD3 works fine. I have found that MODO will work until I import the midi. I always have to transpose the bass... Process>Transpose enter 12, done. It's always worked fine until recently. Now it seems to freeze MODO. Again, the built-in keyboard won't even play a note after I import the midi.

I would probably open the Cakewalk Sonar MIDI event list editor view to see what all events are contained in the imported MIDI, on the off-chance that there is some CC change in there that may be messing with MODO.
