Will we still be able access our bookmarked threads after Jan 16?

Yes, the freeze is merely a change to read-only.  No one will be able to create new posts/threads, but everything else remains the same.

Wish they'd just shut down all these forums altogether honestly. Why?

Because the thought of living in the past does not help one living in the here in now.

There are some serious arguments in these forums, by me for one about various things, and some of those arguments resulted in having some great friends, but the content of those arguments and why they started might very well end up costing my friends even though they were the reason we became friends to begin with!!! LOL!!!

It's time to unplug the old GIBSON CAKEWALK, and the OLD CAKEWALK BY CAKEWALK! Less give the new head coach of the team which is Bandlab a Chance!!!! Be a Cheerleader and love the fact that the CORE DAW is free. For now. I say that as a user of the software only!

Conversations of the past should be left in the past. That is why Cakewalk failed to begin with, too many people wanted to know your real first name and then start addressing you as such and then if someone said something towards you then you take it personally. Just my opinion. I was a real A-HOLE at times according to some on this KEEP IT GOING READ ONLY FORUM, but that was in response to the forum and the content and the USERS themselves at time who were FAR much worse at time with their opinions.

Just my opinion, but there is not a wealth of helpful information to be found here. If you are going to make a new start, how 'bout letting everyone else do the same.......

Feel like your being held hostage with the forums going on READ ONLY and people looking back at vague words that they can't comprehend or picture why someone said what they said at the time.

Shut it down Bandlab if you want to start fresh!!! What has not worked in the past and left to be still as a reminder will only rebuild the past and result in failure in my opinion. Too many opinions and attitudes on these old forums.

Just saying, that is my opinion. I always look at "What I post is out there forever regardless", but then again, it doesn't always reflect the fact that sometimes I said I am sorry and someone else may or may not have also.

New DAW, New FORUMS, Shut it down, no need to cater to old softwares out of date and bring back old memories.

Just my opinion...............................

It's not just all about you.  There are years and years of technical discussions and expert advice contained here.  A wealthy database of diverse topics on DAW setups and recording techniques.  No point in discarding a knowledge base with this level of scope and diversity.

Burning this house down would be the digital equivalent of burning the library at Alexandria.  Suggest reading up on history...  https://ehistory.osu.edu/...ing-library-alexandria

Not to mention the Songs forum, links to thousands of excellent tunes stored there.

Might be a proper time to edit/delete any shameful old posts before they are forever committed to the archives of cyber history!

As was once suggested on these here forums, following this advice should generally keep one out of trouble!
