I'm having Music Creator 2. I'm quite new to this and although I have figured out some things I'm stuck with some others and I need some help. I use the software to mix music with my voice. I use headphones with attached microphone to do this and use separate audio tracks for both the music tracks and the recording of my voice. Some things happen however which i dont want them.
1. When I start recording with the lyrics page open then the tempo is on and the sound of the tempo is on and I do not need the tempo at all. It confuses me and the mic catches the sound of tik-tak.
2. When I record my voice there is a "hishing" sound that comes with it. So whilst the music is still playing one can tell the difference when the mic is on and off. How can I stop that.
3. I want to record different loudness of the music when I record my voice, meaning I need to slow down and the up again the music whilst I'm recording my voice.

Hope someone can help me with this.
By the way I'm neither a music expert nor a technical person.

1. Turn off the metronome under options/project, for both recording and playback, no ticking sound.

2, No idea on the "hishing" sound, try turning off the "hishing" button, no really you need to be more specific, that could be anything.

3. On the issue of the volume going up and down when you record vocals, are you wanting it to act like a voice over? where the musuc automatically lowers when you speak, like on a commercial? If so that is a technique called ducking, and I don't thing MC does this, it is a feature of more full programs. There is one way, to accomplish this, it will not be true ducking, but by using an volume envelope, you can physically lower and raise the volume at certain points in the track

Maybe I used the wrong word (hishing) - sorry english is a second language to me...
What I mean is that when the recording begins the opening of it catches a static sound that when you play the recording sounds something like "ssssssssssss" and is annoing to here it at the background. it kind of destroying the quality of the recording. It this clear enough to get a solution from you?

No problem, i assumed that you meant backbround noise, I would imagine that it is coming from the mike or room noise, or from the sound card.

YEs, its probably from the mic. So is there a way of eliminating /deleting this background noice from the recording?

Yes you can, but visualize the audio recording as a cake, that you have baked, once it is mixed it is harder to remove the individual parts. you can use noise reductions plugins, and wave editors, but the best way is to eliminate it from the signal chain to start with.

Robo is correct in that it is way easier to get rid of the noise before you record. Do you get the noise when you record other audio? If not, then it is almost certainly the mic. If you do get noise with other audio, then the source could be a number of different things that can be difficult to track down. Common causeses of noise include:

Poorly setup recording system
Crappy cables
Unshielded cables
Crappy cable connections
Cable too close to CPU tower
Recording instruments (pickups generally) picking up elecrical interference "noise" from CRT monitors, fluorescent lights, CPU fans
Bad sound card connection
Bad sound card
Background programs running
On and on and on.....
