My (acoustic) guitar has a noticeable boom in a particular bass frequency, and i became frustrated tryin to remedy it by trial and error with the parametric eq. Then i found this chart of frequencies that helped me find and fix it quick. Thought i'd share it in hopes someone else can get some use:

So how do you apply all that? Are you tuning your guitar in GTP3 using parametric eq?

My guitar (a Martin D15 mahogany) has a booming sound when i play a B or C note on the A string. That is, these notes are louder than other notes in a chord. Looking it up on the chart i see that the frequencies of those notes are 123 - 130 Hz (vibrations/second). Now that i've found the general frequency, i can set the F knob on the para eq to 126, narrow the BW (bandwidth of the effective eq) way down to 0.1 octaves to affect only that narrow notch, and bring the gain down until those frequencies are back in line.

There are some VST tuners available if you are in need of one. I use GTune that I got at KVR. Just insert it in the FX bin of an audio track, and mic up your guitar. Its indispensible if you are running multiple instrument tracks.
