Please do not support a company that makes ALL of its money from completely copying other companies' designs. Behringer has NEVER made an original product that doesn't completely ripoff the internal schematics and design of another product. Some things are more important than saving a buck and this is one of them. Not trying to get all preachy here, just sharing my views and giving a little insight to why this company has a such a bad rap. They represent corporate America at its worst. Behringer is the Wal-Mart of audio. I read that Eli (owner of Behringer) is now staying out of the US to avoid getting slapped with even more lawsuits. They have lost 3 lawsuits for violating intellectual property laws (Mackie, Roland, and another I can't remember) and they still continue to ripoff more and more companies. They make more $$$ from the ripoff products they sell than they lose from the lawsuits, so to them, I guess it is worth the trouble. I think it is just wrong.

Man, I wish people would get their facts right before making ridiculous claims like these. Uli Behringer recently responded to such a claim in the Australian magazine "Audio Technology". I have posted his letter HERE.

They lost ONE intellectual property suit against Aphex 20 years ago.

I am not so sure about SM Pro Audio. I bought a VU8, which I really like but one of the LEDs doesn't work. I contacted their Customer Support and the rep said he would send a replacement LED if I didn't mind installing it myself. Not a big job so I agreed. LED never showed. Three attempts to contact them and no response since. I will probably just desolder the bad LED and go to a local electronics shop and get a replacement, but I really hate that complete disregard for the customer. All I wanted was a brand new unit that worked out of the box, and was even willing to fix it myself.

I recently bought one. The thing sounds surprisingly fantastic. I had plenned on getting a Lynx or RME unit but where I am I have to pay 15% Vat, 30% tax and some custom duty to get any electronic item which I have to import. So the ADA8000 came to my rescue.
