Issue With Velocity Bars

Hi; I'm working on my first project in Cakelab. So far so good, but one small issue: In the MIDI editor in X3 I used to be able to raise and lower the velocity bars for notes just by sweeping the cursor across it in the field directly below the note(s). Missing Stop button on Transport part of the control Bar

Has anyone come across this ? The stop button on the transport bar is greyed out. Happens in both Cakewalk and Slat, and only on one project. Mastering Approach - Which method.... ??
