Any drawback on "Normalizing" a track?

Got too excited last night recording my guitar parts for a song via Line 6 HD500 (used HD500 for the first time for recording).. And ended up recording at -35db... I was thinking about redoing the take.. But I tried the 'normalize' option to keep everything at -10db level and now sounds good so far ..

Automation Feature Change

It's a small thing, but does anyone else wish that adding a volume automation envelope worked differently? I get my fader about where I want it, and then I use the drop-down in the track view to change from CLIPS to AUTOMATION | VOLUME. This creates a volume envelope. So far, so good. The problem is..

Audio Dropout when playing rendered audio tracks from softsynths

I have what appears to be the weirdest problem. I created a template with two softsynths (Geist and Sampletank 2.5). Each synth has 16 separate audio output tracks.
