Keeping FX windows shrunk

Petty annoyance: When I start X2, or minimize then maximize it, all FX windows -- which I normally keep minimized if the setting are OK -- all return to their original size and position, covering the console and track views. I cannot immediately find a configuration control to stop this. Any hints?..
