Orphaned Envelopes Not Selectable

I did plugin automation on default Master bus but something went wrong and now can't select the envelopes. I know I must click on the Automation selector drop down menu and picked the envelopes but they do not "light up". I deleted the plugins for the envelopes but envelopes stayed and did not delet..
