Event Inspector not changing channels on notes

I've got a midi track that I cut and pasted and want to change the note channels from 14 to 1. What is that scratchy, static noise?

When I open X3 on my Win 8 laptop there is this scratchy, static type noise. When I open Preferences it completely goes away. I ran wave profiler but still there. When I start play it's still there until the music starts but I'm not sure if it's underneath it. Tried going offline, closing some prgms..

Sync loops with metronome

MIDI Input only on ARMED, not SELECTED tracks?

Is there a way to enable MIDI input only on tracks that are ARMED (set to record), rather than selected? I use a lot of keyswitch-articulation instruments. I have always found it too easy in Sonar to bump an instrument out of the articulation I intended because of an errant MIDI keystroke...

[Solved] waveform preview when recording is all jumpy

All of a sudden, the waveform being drawn, as I am recording, does it in random steps, rather than a smooth scrolling with the time bar.
