faders work later in song - but not earlier -

I've got some tracks that are in at top of song, then come back later. I happened to be where they re-enter, so I put the write and read enable on and started to use the faders in console view; and the faders worked (which sometimes they don't) - so then I went back thinking my read and write enable..

Deleting A Synth In Sonar Home Studio

I can't figure out how to delete synths in Home Studio. If it has a synth rack, I can't find it. I can delete the track it's on, but I don't think that does it. It doesn't in 8.5 anyway.
