Automating delay plugi - Midi Learn issue

I'm trying to midi learn the U-He delay plugin MFM2. I right-click the parameter I want to automate, and choose "Midi Learn", but moving knobs on my Midi controller do not work. CC64 not registering as sustain in Sonar

I'm trying to use a sustain pedal with my A-500 PRO keyboard, but for some reason it doesn't "count" as sustain according to Sonar. It works perfectly in standalone synths. MIDI data overwritten

This is strange.... When I record MIDI and do a 2nd take, my original MIDI gets overwritten, its still there but as a 'white' note. Even if I go to the take lanes its there but 'greyed' out. I try to 'bounce to clips' but this does not work either... Has anyone else experienced this?..
