Auto crop when exporting

When I record anything, there will usually be a bar or 2 of silence at the beginning and perhaps a few seconds after a fade. Is The Grid Working The Way It Should?

When I have the Smart Grid on, and I zoom horizontally the grid changes as I zoom. I would suppose this is correct and working as it should.My problem is with the Smart Grid OFF. When I select a snap setting 1/4, 1/8, etc, shouldn't the grid follow my snap setting?It doesn't here...

I've been out of the loop here for about 10 years or so...so I was interested in upgrading from Sonar XL 2.1 to X3.I don't have the minimum sys req, and am planning on using a dual core 2.7 ghz AMD Kuma, 4Gb ram, Win7, Focusrite Scarlette 18i20.I don't plan on more than 20-24 tracks per project and ..
