X3 Producer Install Failure

Installed X3 yesterday with devastating results (devastating because X3 not only failed but has caused the same failure in my installation of X2 Producer and Sonar is the backbone of my voiceover business). VC-64 (Vintage_Channel_64.dll ) running in 32-bit in X3 Producer 64-bit mode?

Got the X3 Download Blues - Dimension Pro

Is this Dimension Pro release any different than the 1.5 that came with X2? I can't get above about 50KB/sec data tranfer rate on the Dimension Pro download link. If it's what I already have, I'll quit now and save myself the 19 hours and 20 minutes left.....

Possible RegionFX bug

I've discovered that you can't create region FX for clips that have clip automation. You either have to just get rid of the automation, or bake it into the clip by doing a bounce. Is this intended behaviour, does anyone know? It's fairly un-intuitive. Sometimes the "Create Region FX" option is greye..
