How TL-64 Tube Leveler can be used in mastering?

If I'm not mistaken, Cakewalk advertises the TL-64 Tube Leveler as one of their mastering plugins. Although I know it can be used for other things, I wanted to find out exactly what purpose it serves during mastering? My guess is that it's supposed to be used as a soft-clip gain reduction tool ..

I haven't found any other threads about what seems like it should be an easy problem... at least not that are applicable to my set-up. I have producer 8.5 and a MOTU 828 firewire interface. My problem is that when I'm recording vocals I can't get my live input monitoring hot enough in my headphones...

Sliding Bass Effect

Hi Guys I want to start my song with a sliding bass guitar going from high B to low B. A laddering down effect if that makes sense (As if someone was playing on a real instrument). Non-midi tracks in PRV's Pick Tracks
