Please explain the difference between a 'leveling compressor' and a 'compressor'

So I can be as smart a Jethro Bodine from the Beverly Hillbillies, could somebody please explain the difference between the two kind of compressors: Leveling compressor (like the CA-2A) and a plain old compressor. thanks Randy..

Frozen tracks get muted and recording is offset

The meter indicated there was audio, however no audio on that track was being played, all other tracks were playing, some were frozen. Any way to alter the normal, sequential order of clip playback?

If I have a project that consists of several linear clips, is there any way to automate playback so that the clips are traversed in an order that is different from the order in which they occur? I'm thinking about a "clip go to" or "clip call" construct, such as one might use in a procedural program..
