Another BIG problem : 3rd Party plugins Maintenance

Hi receved a mail today from PA guyz with whom i'm in touch for beta testing and some bug issues ,and they asked me if my bugs where soanr only , because of the news this will affect"priorisation" ..... So basically , to make it short .....for those that want to keep using sonar for a long time ......

SONAR DEAD! Are these my options?

1) Start a VERY long project to export ALL of my stuff and import what I can into a new DAW and start learning a new DAW from scratch and re-mixing everything in the new environment...YUCK! 2) Stay with a now dead DAW and hope that Windows updates don't break it...YUCK 3) Freeze Windows update..

A downside to the introduction of the monthly updates was that Scott's "Power" books were no longer practical to produce. That was a big loss. Is it possible to make future bass in SONAR HOME STUDIO?

I have been looking for a music studio for a while now and I am wondering if this would be any good for future bass. I'm currently looking for a cheaper alternative to FL Studio, if this isn't any good, and someone knows one, please tell me!P.S If it is good link me some synths and stuff please..

Special last version

Under the circumstances, Gibson should approve the writing of a last version of Sonar that unlocks any plugins so that they will work out side of Sonar and remove the current authentication protocol so that we are not plagued by activation issues once we’re untethered from Cakewalk...

So much for being a 'lifetime' purchaser of SONAR...

My question is, was Cakewalk aware Gibson was going to toss the company when Cakewalk was offering a lifetime subscription to their software for $200 bucks for existing users?..
