A laptop with a useless soundcard, anyone with a cheap option?

Hi there I wonder if you could help? I have a Dell Studio 1555 with a IDT audio soundcard. I've managed to get it working with SONAR 6 although it has latency issues and judders when playing back! I've been playing with buffer sizes etc. but can't improve things. What I'm looking for a a cheap exter..

multiple songs in one project all with their own tempo signature... Possible?

I want to practice with the band and add some additional sounds... Can I add multiple songs (with their own time signature) to one project so I can easily skip thru songs or let the whole setlist run?..

Which audio files are in a certain project version?

What I mean is I have , say 5 or 6 different versions of a project where I change the name slightly. How can I tell which audio files belong to the final project "name" I want to keep? Sorry if it's been asked before, I cannot find a way Thanks..
