Is there a way to make Sonar scan only specific locations instead of the entire computer? I have three hard disks, and it takes forever to scan for project files. Can I use my synth guitar thru my midi keyboard to Sonar? SOLVED-No-SPEND $

I have a GR20 guitar synth with midi in and out but no USB and an Alesis QX25 keyboard with midi out only and USB to the computer. Can I use the keyboard as an interface for my GR20 and be able to input midi to Sonar with the guitar thru the keyboard? If so, what would the track settings be?..

8 gigs ram dual core PC and drop outs all the time

How in the hell can this be? I can't get through recording longer than maybe 5 or 6 takes when drop outs and usually followed by the white screen of doom and no matter how long I wait hoping that it will respond, it doesn't and CRASH.
