my mouse gets disabled when i try to use the EQ

hello, when i try and tweak the gain parameters on the Pro Channel EQ i lose my mouse in sonar, when my mouse hovers over the start menu i can see it, but my mouse gets completely disabled in sonar until i restart!!! please help!..
