Question about TH2

I have normally recorded guitar via my POD XT but want to try Overloud TH2. What would be the best way to get my dry guitar signal into computer? - record clean signal via POD? - plug my guitar into Mackie mixer? - plug my guitar into my RNP (really nice preamp) Appreciated..

Do I need to have X1 on my PC to upgrade to X2?

I bought the X2 Producer upgrade from X1 Producer Expanded but decided I'm going to get a new PC since my old one isn't powerful enough for it. X2 - Improvements to audio engine?

Were there improvements made to the audio engine in X2? It may be just me, but it doesn't sound as digitally sterile as X1. I've been comparing mixes done in X1 against bouncing down the same mixes in X2 ... and however subtle it may be, there appears to be more "sonic cream" in the X2 sound. .....

Can installations of X1/X2 and 8.5.3 exist on the same disk drive or machine without adversely affecting one another? Pro 9 audio file import fine into producer but won't play in original .wrk file

I've imported .mid files from pro audio 9 and x1 plays them. I track down the audio .wav files from the original .wrk file, and can import them into x1 & they play. After I import them into the .mid file project, they are listed, and you can see the sound waves, but sonar says it can't play them..
