Tap Tempo in X1

Is a giant step backwards! I sure hope they restore it to AT LEAST where it was in 8.5.3! ...how could this be so freakin' overlooked?! ...had a session today and embarrased myself by NOT being able to effectively tap a tempo so... ...I'm over it now... ;)..

This seems like a bug, but perhaps its something else. + I may have seen a thread about this, but I totally can't find the thread now. Gate 'pops' on PC4K S-Type Expander/Gate ?
