Hard Disk Cache Size Question

Hi Guys, I'm buying two new SATA hard disks, one for the system disk (Windows) the other for the audio data. How important is cache size in terms of streaming audio data in Sonar? Under normal circumstances I can see how there could be an advantage when streaming a large sequential file or two, but ..

Sorry the title is very vague. For some reason and I have no doubt it is something I did, the guitar tracks I record now are SUPER loud, yet the peak readouts in the track and everywhere else available are like -93? issue with metronome

The metronome in Platinum was working fine until the latest update. Now when I press "record," there is no metronome. I can get it to play during the whole time I'm recording. But I only want it to count off until the music starts. Then I want it to stop. How do I fix it? Thanks!Greg..
