why does Dim Pro mis-report file sizes ?

I'm working on some conversion work of patches... give it an RX2 loop to save out as a prog.. the filesize on screen in is NOT what the file actually is. e.g. the rx2 is really 2.8mb... *BUT* dim pro reports it as 9mb! is it also wasting that memory ?..
