Automation in Ableton Live?

One thing I've never understood -- as in literally, I don't understand the underlying technology well enough -- is why Cakewalk instruments (Dimension Pro, Rapture, and now Z3TA+ 2 as well) cannot be automated in Ableton Live. Could someone explain why, why not, and/or what I might be missing? In..

While viewing the Groove 3 video on " Take lane super highway" I fell for the sound " Sustained Synth Chords" that I presume is from the Drop Zone synth. but I cannot locate it and I really like that sound and would like to use it. Dimension Pro won't upgrade from 1.2 to 1.5

I've installed the upgrade to 1.5, but now Dimension Pro won't make any sound. When I check the version number, it's still showing 1.2. I've tried reinstalling several times, but with no luck. Anyone else have this problem?..

hey everybody! can anybody explain to me how sync envelope in rapture is supposed to work??? let's say i have an amp envelope that looks vaguely like this... /\ if i set the amp eg sync to 1 i'd expect that if i hold a note for a bar the eg would cycle once during that bar. if i held the note for 2 ..

Percussion pieces in SD3 kits?

All the descriptions for various drum kits for SD3 mention "full percussion" without any specifics. Does this just mean a cowbell and woodblock, or does it mean a collection of hand percussion and latin percussion. Timpanis? A list of the pieces would be VERY helpful. Extreme n00b problem - recording from CakewalkSoundCenter

Hi I've attached a screenshot of what I'm seeing. Inserted new Track which seems to be receiving sound from the SoundCenter panel (as in, I can see the levels monitor react when I press the synth keys); when I hit R to record I get a metronome sound and can hear the synth but nothing gets recorded. ..
