COSM Guitar Effects

The COSM guitar effects can only be used when the V-Studio 20 is the main sound card, correct? For example, if I'm using my Roland Quad-Capture as the sound card and the V-Studio 20 as only a midi controller, the COSM effects are not accessible. Right?..

How can I make a-PRO work with non-Sonar applications?
