Sonar Platinum -- maybe I just haven't found it, but in older sonar, there was a Tool button called "Scrub" that allowed one to drag the mouse cursor along the tracks in view in PRV and hear the notes in a tempo dictated by how fast you drag the mouse. No Tiny Must-Click-Here areas anywhere for any reason.
