Mackie 1604 Phantom Power

I want to charge up my CAD E100 mic using the phantom power on my Mackie 1604. Does the power switch have to be turned on on the 1604 for the phantom power to work, or can I just turn on the phantom power switch?..

Looper - how do you used it ? Can it do more than a single phrase at a time ?

I'm always fascinated by solo musicians using hardware looper and add layers to build up parts. I don't have any looper.. so I have these questions. While I do understand the way you can loop a single progression and add layers to it on each pass.. can the looper allows you to have A/B or C parts.. ..
