Been having some lag issues lately.

[Solved. Trashed it] Computer shuts off right after turning on!

Hey guys, I wonder if you have any ideas. This is a spare computer that I was trying to get working. Turn it on, about 3-4 seconds later, shuts right back off. I tried changing ram sticks, hard drives, power supply, and reseated the processor. Do you think the mobo is fried? Any other ideas?..

When to change hard drives.

I was eq`ing a kick track and noticed it was:(KickMic.wav 3884).that's a lot of wavs in 2 years and I`m wondering if it is time to replace my C Drive(Program drive) before it wears out.It is one of 3 WD 1TB drives in the box and I thoroughly backup with Acronis and external drives but,I am wondering..

Did win7 ever have a defrag tool that showed the file block as WinXP did?

I'm getting confused. I have a new Win7 laptop and I want to shrink the C: drive so I can add a D: partition and I have an immovable file out at 500GB which makes my 1TB drive seem sort of useless. I wanted to end up with a 200GB C: and a 800GB D: but it looks like I'll end up with 2 500GB partition..

Hard drive usage question

When I right click on my c drive and go to properties it shows I used 460db of space. When I select all of my folders and files on my c drive it shows I used 206gb. What gives? Why am I getting two different readings?..

So is there anything significant in this upgrade that would make it worth waiting to install things? If not I think I'll just hook everything up with windows 8 and then wait for the 8.1 drivers to come out whenever they do. WSS..

Hello. Most of the Intel processors now boast of integrated graphics right on the proccessor itself - no need for a separate graphics accelerator. When building a DAW to run Sonar X-series, would it be better to use the intergrated graphics of the processor, or get a dedicated graphics card?..

Windows 8.1

so is anything strange going to happen if I upgrade windows 8 64 bit to windows 8 .1? I'm using the V 700 hardware and just getting ready to install the Windows 8 drivers and hook everything to a new machine. I'm assuming the drivers are the same. Right? Thank you. WSS..
