Protocols Suck

there is a patient alarm outside my door in ICU that services the whole ward and has to be loud enough for a nurse to hear from the other end of the wing.I reckon it`s around 75db,and when I queried the volume I was told it is "industry protocol" and cannot be turned down because Occupational Health..

Melodyne on guitar - anyone else having better results with flatwound strings?

Purely anecdotal, but I think I'm getting slightly better Melodyne pitch recognition on guitar (especially polyphonic) since I put flatwounds on my Tele. Probably due to them having more fundamental and less overtones, probably. Anyone else?..
