Any advice on Guitar Pro 6??

My son (age 13) had a few years guitar lessons. Now he wants Guitar Pro 6, because his teacher uses it.I downloaded a demo, but I couldn't test it thoroughly. The demo does not play downloaded tabs. And that's the idea. Download tabs and practice them. There is also an iphone version. But I'm afraid..
