Buffer settings

Is there any rule about buffer setting? I need a buffer setting in Sonar, my audio interface, and my Vienna Instrument software. Should they match or be different? Any suggestions? Thanks, Mike..

Sonar tempo/midi timing problem

I have a song which I like the banjo track from. So I took in the wav, and then I opened it up in soundforge, and I slowed it down. The only times I've worked with video was way, way back. If I was lucky enough I'd have a VHS copy of the video before I started writing, otherwise I'd start working from the script and vague instructions. At this point, I'm not looking for any esoteric/philosophical/what it's like to be a composer ..
