Is my Setup causing muddy vocals?

So I have a ATR2500 usb mic form sudio technica and I am currently trying my hardest to get clear vocals!! They come out a bit muddy and oomy eve after eq...how I do I fix it? I kow eq will help but I need a pre solution before a major one any help?..

Talking of ARC ...

I already have a BeyerDynamic MM1 which is a much better measurement mic than the one that comes with IK's ARC. Is there equivalent ARC software I can get without shelling out a fortune to IK for a mic and plugin I already have? (I just don't have the plugin)..

I just came across this post on Gearslutz which gives some superb advice and tips on producing and mixing synthesized and/or sampled music. Nothing here is written in stone and of course plenty of room for debate, but some of the tips here really made me think. Especially tip #2 about overproduction..

Vocals are airy...trying to make them warmer so they sit in the mix

Ok so I am trying to cover this song I am a KPOP coverist yes and yes I am a girl...duh ya know? Ok so how do I get my vocals to sound as warm as they do in the original song? The recordings sound ok but they seem so airy a bit and I want to make them warmer so they fit i the mix...does anyone know ..

Using Z3ta+ as an effects plugin

Has anyone used the ARC2 mic for anything else?

I tried it on some acoustic guitar last night and it sounded alright. Not as nice as my AKG, but different.
