Pro Channel - pre vs post

Hi- when do you set Pro Channel as pre versus post? I am sure there are loads of combinations but just looking for some "rules of thumb". And what about when it is used on the Master buss is that usually done differently than tracks/channels....

help with pre-master preparation - taming peaks properly

Wondering if this is not a good technique to tame peaks > -3db here's what i do: I try to get the bulk of my mix under -3db but typically peaks will be greater than -3db. so, i use a limiter such as waves L3 ultra stereo to chop of those peaks at around -3db. obviously this is the lazy mans approach..

Channel Tools?

So, I understand that Channel Tools is a helpful tool for manipulating the stereo field. I know it can change how the width of the stereo field sounds. But, how exactly does it do that? Does it take more out of the middle...add some to the left or right ... or what??? I'm curious about how it works ..
