Phase issues and how to check them in mono/EQ?

How do I check in mono if my mix is out of phase? Also when doing an eq, say I want to bring out the low E in a bass guitar which is 41 hz, Is it a good way to just boost the harmonics like 82 hz, 123 hz, 164 hz to keep the mix less muddy but at the same time making the low E more apparent? Dithering settings?

I am recording at 24 bit 44.1 sample rate and will be exporting the project as 16 bit 44.1 sample rate wav. file. Question is: What is the recommended settings to use for dithering? Right now it is at triangular at default. Thanks!..

or I have to improvise? The rode NT-1A is too heavy for my stand besides long arm would be needed anyway so hanging it up at the ceiling looks like a good idea. Can buy such hangers? I hope mike will not sound different when upside down? thanks..
