Multiband compression on rhythm guitars

I'm not at my DAW so can't try this out till later, but was just doing some thinking. Going for a wall of sound type feel here. Rhythm guitar, clean, crunchy or distorted, and we simply put a dual band multiband on it. Pretty wide crossover at maybe 800-1000Hz ish. The low end is compressed to hell ..

Now, I've actually figured out what Gain Staging and Volume is about...more by accident than anything else My question is why can't these things be explained better?!? Who makes the best tutorials for this kind of thing?..

How do I trim highs and lows?

Swells + crescendos with CC11: most practical way of managing the default CC11 setting?

I want to record some string and synth parts at a default loudness level, and use CC11 to make the sound louder or quieter than the default at various points. Rendering track arpeggiator midi data...

As the subject line states, I've been trying to generate the arpeggiator midi data for edit purposes and have..., miserably failed. I don't have any problems with the arp. per say and am comfortable with it. But for the first time, I'm in need of editing some notes and can't for the life of me figur..

Slightly confused about using loops (other then drum loops)

I've had some Sony orchestral loops dormant on my pc for a while,and I was just perusing through them,and realized that a few would sound pretty good on a song I'm working on.
